Adria Stubbs I offer a warm, safe and empathic space where I am genuine and where clients feel accepted. I use my own creativity to tune in to the uniquely individual needs of my clients, supporting them in telling their story in whatever way feels right for them. I currently work face-to-face with adults in Edinburgh and East Lothian, offering 50 minute sessions on a weekly basis in a traditional counselling room setting. I also offer optional sessions outdoors in East Lothian where we work in and with the natural environment as an alternative way of exploring needs and gaining new perspectives..

I trained in counselling at The University of Edinburgh, using both person-centred and psychodynamic approaches, and here I came to appreciate many of the challenges faced in understanding and accepting ourselves. I came to recognise the value of talking to a therapist who listens empathically and who can offer insight without judgement.

As a counsellor I have worked with people who have difficulties with depression, anxiety, loss, change, leaving home, parenting, growing old, illness, work, faith, identity, relationships, learning issues, sexuality, racial discrimination, bullying and neglect. I have supported people with feelings of hopelessness, powerlessness and confusion and worked with people who self harm and have OCD. I remain interested in working with a broad range of issues.

I Work in Edinburgh (William Street) on Mondays, Edinburgh (The PF) on Tuesdays and in East Lothian (main base Cockenzie) on Wednesdays.
